According to Section 125 of the Canada Labour Code, businesses must ensure that all employees who are granted access to an establishment where they may require safety materials, equipment, devices, and clothing are provided with the latter.

However, it is not enough to simply endow the workplace with a wide range of equipment.Workers must also receive proper training in using and maintaining their designated gear.

Introduction to PPE

In this module you will learn about the Legal Requirements including the sections of OHSA and Canada Labour Code in Regards to PPE, the CSA Standards and General Conditions as well as the Responsibilities of Workers, Managers and Superviors when it comes to Personal Protective Equipment.

Specific PPE Guidance

Throughout this module, you will learn about proper selection and use of the following PPE:

Head Protection, Eye and Face Protection, Ear Protection, Respiratory and Upper Body Protection, Hand and Arm Protection as well as Lower Body and Foot PPE.
